Enter to Win a camera!

Help me win this camera, or enter to win yourself!  Grace loves photography, so another nicer camera, would really come in handy for our family. Esp. if we end up taking a class together.

New Blog coming soon!

We've been busy here recovering for the hustle and bustle of the holidays, trying to catch up on the laundry (is that even possible with 7 people living in one house, along with 3 dogs & 2 cats? I think not!), getting the kids back to studying, trying to get my TMJ jaw splint covered by insurance, (sadly, they won't, so it will eat up 1/2 of our health care spending account, to have one made) and setting up a new blog with the help of our friend, Donna Laurie.

The new blog will be a place where we can sell my fleece, tied blankets, Asian dolls, books and other items and our Goldendoodle puppies, that will help us with our budget, as well as free up some very needed space in our house.  It will also be a place where we can help support several causes, that we  care deeply about, by allowing us to give part of the sale of several different blankets, to help those causes.  We will also occasionally donate a blanket or other item, to help a family raise funds for their adoption, by way of a auction or raffle.  All of the auction/raffle money will go directly to that family and the winner will get a blanket or other item and we will donate the item, as well as the shipping cost.   We will also do fund raising for specific children's medical expenses, from time to time.

With the new blog designated to only things we have "for sale", it will free up space on our main blog and on my Facebook page, to write about our family, our lives, our passions, our faith and not all this other stuff, that can often "clutter" the other pages, pun intended.

We will still continue to post about causes, & children in need of prayer and/or medical funds, on our Facebook pages and our main blog page.  Hoping to utilize the main blog for deepening my faith, and increasing my writing & photography skills in 2012. I am determined to write a book about our adoption journey, Marissa's story, our story, by making the time to blog and increasing my confidence in my ability to do justice to our story and at the same time, give Glory and Honor to God for it all.

We pray that 2012 will be a better year for everyone, both financially and health wise, as so many are struggling in those areas right now and also that we may all deepen our faith and our compassion for others, so we can all work together in making the world a better place for all!

Hope you will all check out the new blog: Doodlebug Blessings, when we post the link!

Blessings, Kim
For those that seek to understand The WORD, I stumbled upon this website earlier today
http://missionalthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/01/10/one-of-the-most-misquoted-bible-verses/
It explains about Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  We've all seen this verse in various forms, but do you know who He was speaking to and why?  Do you really KNOW what it means? I encourage you to read the link above and always remember JOY:  Jesus, Others, Yourself, do all things in this order and you will find JOY in your life & in your heart.

My made-up Chicken Spaghetti Recipe

Empty 2 cans chicken broth in crockpot with 2 cups water, add more water if needed. Add 3-4 bay leaves and some Italian seasoning, I used the McCormicks Italian seasoning grinder, 3-4 cloves of garlic finely chopped. Place whole chicken in broth, set crock pot on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is done & ready to fall off the bones. OR:(you can cook on low heat all night, even better) I carefully took the chicken out and placed it on a platter, like you would a turkey, and removed the skin & bones. I poured the broth into a large glass container to cool, as I will use the broth later by freezing it when cool for chicken noodle soup & other recipes that call for chicken broth. I also removed the bay leaves & discarded them. I separated the chicken into small pieces, but not to small, it just falls apart. Place back into empty crock pot, Add 2-3 cans tomato sauce, or jarred sauce & 2 cans of diced tomatoes, or freshly diced tomatoes. Add 2 T Italian seasoning, 1 T Basil, 1 T. Oregano and either 2-3 cloves finely chopped garlic, or garlic salt to taste. Let simmer for about an hour or more, until hot.
Serve over pasta or rice, we used angel hair pasta and topped it with freshly grated mozzarella or parmesan cheese, serve with salad and French bread. Glass of wine, optional! Delish!

I am working on a new link on the blog, where I will be able to post the Fleece Tied Blankets, Asian DollsGoldendoodle Puppies and other Misc. things we might be selling, so I can free up space on my FB page, separate it from my blogging about our family etc., and be able to add a Paypal link etc.  Be watching for that coming very soon!
